The Catcher in the Rye is a book written by J.D. Salinger in 1951. This book reflects on the behavior of Holden Caulfield. At the beginning of the novel it is told that Holden suffers a significant loss and has trouble dealing with it. This loss triggers an onset of bad decisions and behavior. Holden is constantly struggling to maintain even ground ever since the event.
